Call to Visual Artists -Deadline extended
Call to Visual Artists
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 22 FEBRUARY 2016
As part of the activities to commemorate its 25th Anniversary, the Malta Stock Exchange will be organizing a collective art exhibition. The exhibition will be held at its premises, the iconic and beautiful Garrison Chapel, in Castille Square, Valletta, which combines classical architecture and modern design. The interior offers a grand spatial experience.
Visual artists based in Malta wishing to participate in this unique event are invited to submit work related to their spatial concerns. The overriding theme is about how people experience the space around them; how we relate to the physical, cultural, social, political, economical, and technological environment today. The very notion of space today is different to what it was say a hundred years ago. Personal, emotional and psychological parameters also play a part in how we experience space. Obviously there are many takes on this subject matter. It is not our intention that the artworks submitted incorporate all of the above subcontexts or are limited to them.
The event will be held between April and June 2016 and will be open to the public throughout this period. The project is supported by the Valletta 2018 Foundation http://valletta2018.org/.
